ABOUT

Gamble is an artificially created being, brought to life by an entity known as 'The Narrator,' as a cruel embodiment of the fear and terror within the hearts of those The Narrator chose to torment. What is known is that he was not made to live a comfortable, calm life. From the moment he came into existence, he understood nothing- From the moment he came into existence, he understood nothing - the world was simply full of people who wanted to hurt him, people who wanted him to starve. During this early period, Gamble existed in a constant state of exhaustion and distress, his body acting under the influence of something beyond his control - a sort of non-living parasitic mind controlling action that made him hungry. A sort of non-living parasitic mind controlling action that made him HUNGRY. He was driven to hunt and consume others as a means of survival, not out of malice, but because his Aurasect, The Vessel, made him susceptible to being influenced by an external, consuming force.

Gamble did not fully understand what he was doing, only that he needed to continue in order to exist. Despite this, fragments of his true self were always present - hesitation before attacks, attempts to communicate, and visible distress between moments of violence. To others, he appeared erratic or cruel, and most dismissed him as unstable or dangerous. Very few recognized that his actions lacked true intent. Among those few was Chance, who noticed the inconsistency in Gamble’s behavior and began to understand that something deeper was wrong. Though Gamble initially rejected any attempts at connection, their interactions kicked off the start of a shift - one that would eventually allow him to be seen as more than what he was forced to become.

Gamble’s condition changed abruptly when he entered what is now referred to as The Vacancy, the moment in which the external influence within him ceased. He woke alone in an open field, no longer under direct control, but left to grapple with the aftermath of what he had been. With no guidance and still believing himself to be dangerous, he isolated himself in the forests, avoiding contact with others. During this time, he survived by hunting only sick or dying animals, doing what he could to minimize harm. However, his appearance and behavior unleashed a wave of fear. Stories spread among the towns of a creature lurking in the woods - a violent, feral being - despite the reality that Gamble was actively trying to be gentle.

Eventually, he was discovered in a severely weakened state and taken in for medical care. His malnourished, ill-looking condition and near collapse drew public attention, though no one was able to identify him. Chance, recognizing him immediately, stepped forward and offered to take him in. From there, Gamble began a slow but meaningful recovery. With consistent care, he regained his strength and sense of self. He chose to become fully vegetarian, distancing himself as much as possible from his past, and developed a healthier relationship with food and his own body. Now living and working alongside Chance, someone who cares deeply and unconditionally, at his casino, Gamble has reintegrated into society. Though shadows of his past remain, Gamble is determined to forge a new path, crafting a life defined by his own choices and aspirations.

PERSONALITY

Gamble is a deeply emotional and in some ways uncomfortably endearing person who feels everything a little too strongly. He has a tendency to latch onto people too strongly despite his issues with trust, seeking comfort and reassurance. He desires connection and is clingy, but not malicious. He's soft, but that wasn't always part of him. He was rebuilt, and he holds on to his new self tightly, too scared of letting go. He wants to be liked, wants to be seen as good, and tries very hard to present himself as approachable and warm, even when he isn’t entirely sure how.

He also struggles with being overly dramatic. Small inconveniences feel like Orwellian catastrophes, and he reacts in ways that are a bit over-the-top, whether that’s exaggerated frustration, sudden excitement, or quiet, sometimes invisible spiraling. Despite this, he’s genuinely funny, often without meaning to be. His awkward timing, strange phrasing, and tendency to overshare or misread situations create a kind of humor that feels natural rather than forced. People don’t always laugh with him at first, but they usually end up doing so.

Gamble holds a lingering uncertainty about himself. He thinks he's inadequate. He second-guesses his intentions, his actions, even his own thoughts, especially when things feel intense or out of control. There are moments where he pulls back, quieter and more unsure, like he’s checking to make sure he’s still fully himself. These moments don’t last forever, but they’re there. Small, nagging reminders of a time when he didn’t have full ownership over his own body or choices.

Even so, Gamble is trying. He puts effort into being kind, into making others comfortable, into building something stable for himself. He takes pride in the life he has now. His health, his appearance, his ability to exist without fear; and that pride shows in small, meaningful ways. He’s not perfect, and he knows that, but he’s learning to be okay with it. And more than anything, he wants to keep moving forward, even if he trips along the way.

03

PRESENT AND CURRENT

Gamble’s past is defined by The Occupied State, a period immediately following his creation where he had little to no control over his own body. Driven by the influence of his Aurasect, he was forced into violent survival, hunting and consuming others despite clear distress and confusion. To those around him, he appeared unstable or malicious, but in reality, he was exhausted, starving, and terrified, caught in a situation he didn’t understand and couldn’t escape. His attempts to communicate were dismissed, his behavior misread, and he was largely isolated, with only Chance beginning to recognize that something was wrong beneath the surface. This period ended abruptly when he entered The Vacancy, waking alone and finally free—but left to deal with the aftermath of everything he had been forced to do. He was emaciated, hungry, and alone.

Gamble now lives a relatively stable life working at Chance’s casino, where he’s become a familiar and surprisingly well-liked presence. He’s healthier, softer, and far more comfortable in his own body, taking visible pride in his appearance and the fact that he’s no longer struggling to survive. He tends to be a bit clingy and overly expressive, but in a way that’s more endearing than off-putting, often seeking reassurance or attention without realizing how obvious it is. He’s fully vegetarian by choice and genuinely enjoys food now, especially simple things like green beans, which feel safe and grounding to him. While his Aurasect, The Vessel, still lingers as a quiet part of him, it no longer controls his actions—he is fully himself, and for the first time, that feels real.
